“ A small, longtime coffeeshop run by a very nice couple since the mid-80s! Walking inside feels like stepping into a rustic Italian cafe. I agree with one reviewer who said it feels like everything they offer is made with love. Coffee is organic and always hot and fresh any time of the day! We also enjoy their breakfast sandwich (egg, avocado, tomato on a toasted bagel) and their turkey sandwich is a generous serving of fresh ingredients. Having coffee or breakfast here always feels nourishing to the body and the soul. Everyone we meet is welcoming and engaging and treats you like an old friend. Definitely a gem in the community. ”

It's basically Cheers (where everybody knows your name) in a different form factor: the same crowd coming multiple times weekly to meet with, chat with, debate with, converse with, all your neighborhood friends and the lovely proprietors Giuliano & Esther (and sometimes her cousin)! As a bonus, great food and drink: Turkey sandwich 2nd to none, great salad, coffee/espresso, and homemade chai, for starters, all reasonably priced but cash-only. Take a risk coming here... you'll be tempted to come back over & over again, if not for the food, for the company. Towards the edge of downtown Burlingame with metered parking on the street & the lot (plenty of spaces) across the street. ”

It is quite possibly the most delicious sandwich i've ever had. You can taste the simple freshness of the ingredients. The ciabbata bread was perfect. It tasted like it was freshly baked. It had a wonderful crunch with every bite. The turkey also tasted like it was right out of a Thanksgiving dinner. The veggies were so fresh too. The sandwich had tomatoes, onions, lettuce, avocado, potatoes (nice touch). I would definitely order the turkey sandwich again. It will now be the turkey sandwich by which I will compare all other turkey sandwiches... Service: 10/10 The sweetest, most welcoming and hospitable couple. You feel like family when you are there. The owner makes all of his offerings with so much love. You can taste it in everything he makes. There's beauty in simplicity. There's quality over quantity.
